Everton v Manchester City

Recommended Posts

I think the Police were surprised by the number of Bears and (in a moment of panic) got the big screens turned off.

It was a daft thing to do but I don't think it was malicious.

If that is what happened it was very very stupid and lacked leadership.

The lead up in the two days before the game had a great atmosphere and we felt very warmly welcomed and having it ruined by what happened very disappointing.

By using the word "we" I would point out that I was there with my two sons and a few of their friends, who are in agreement of the suspicious "failing" of the broadcast at Piccadilly Square.

It's pretty obvious the screens were turned off intentionally.  Whoever made that decision made a huge mistake.

I saw Bears spewing at a service station just over the border at about 8am on the morning of the game.  It's up to folk if they want to get wrecked that early (I have done it myself, regretfully) but it was certainly a contributory factor in what went on.  And as usual, it's the decent folk like yourself who suffered.

I got locked in a wee pub about 5 mins before kick off.  I remember a Manc lass asking me what the Hell was going on.

As I said I seen game okay at other area(can't remember name of it) so didn't suffer, indeed only found out about trouble on the next morning news but was totally sickened by the heavy handed tactics and that is why I have no time for the City of Manchester and it's two top teams.
