Reports coming out right now that Steven Gerrard has agreed to take charge at Ibrox from June 1 on a three year deal.

Can he start earlier? Don’t want him backing out once he’s realised the players he’s stuck with

Whilst waiting.......

Did you know that FF have a SG thread with 726,000 views and over 11,000 posts over about 5 days :eek2:

Whilst on Gersnet we have this one with 22,000 views and over 800 posts.

Numbers would suggest that folk on Gersnet are more likely to post with about a post every 27 views (on FF it's 66)

Obviously we all hope it works out but it's a puzzling one. What qualifies Gerrard to be manager of the club with no managerial experience while reportedly Gary McAllister who does have management experience is relegated to assisting a novice?

One factor i'm banking on is that I have doubts Gerrard would step into this cauldron which could severely damage his future management prospects without some substantial squad building financial guarantees.

And presumably his name must have at least some sort of positive effect effect regarding persuading good quality to play in Scotland.
