In 1973, Frankie Miller released his second album, Highlife produced by Allen Toussaint.

A truly great album.  Real soulful, bluesy music.

I recall some yahoos getting upset with Frankie a few years ago when he stated there are more important things in life than football/Celtc, despite this being because he had suffered from a brain hemorrhage in '94.

As an aside, Just A Boy's Game is a cracking wee film.

On this day in 1979 Adam & The Ants released their 1st Album Dirk Wears White Sox which is far removed from the music they'll be remembered for.

In my opinion their first 2 albums were brilliant and even Prince Charming (their 3rd album) and some redeeming features.

This is trombonist, Jack Teagarden’s vocal on the Louis Armstrong All Stars 1947 version of St James.

Armstrong was transitioning from Jazz musician to cuddly, comical pop/film star. His 1920s recording was funereal in a good way but Teagarden’s vocal is superior.
