Well, this will be a circus. A look at Newsnow and all the "look at us, look at us" - sites already spout names of players Gerrard will, might, may or already has looked up or in mind.

One who gets mentioned is striker Dominic Solanke, a 20-year old English youth striker signed by Liverpool on a free from Chelsea's u23s last summer, contracted till 2022. Has seen some EPL action, but thus far only a one goal (EPL 2) and one assist (EPL) this season.

Now, the summer we signed Rossiter, there was a youth tournament (EEC or WC?) and both were playing for England. While the reporter always raved about Solanke, he showed fairly little in the games I watched. Rossiter dominated the midfield though and had some really decent shots as well. Mightily disappointed that he was injured for so long. You would hope Gerrard gets the best out of him and with Jack and McCrorie, we'd have a good basis (sic!) for the defensive MF next season.

Solanke and Ings were mentioned on Premier League TV on Saturday. Don Hutch said Liverpool are bringing in a world class striker and it will allow one or both of these to go north with Stevie G.

Scott Arfield agrees Rangers deal after announcing Burnley departure

By Sky Sports News

Last Updated: 27/04/18 5:12pm

Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield has agreed a four-year pre-contract agreement with Rangers, according to Sky sources.

Burnley revealed on Thursday that Arfield would leave Turf Moor and the 29-year-old will join the Scottish Premiership side when his contract expires in the summer.

"Rangers asked us about Scotty Arfield and what his position was," Burnley boss Sean Dyche said. "Scotty was a boyhood Rangers fan and that one's pretty simple in its form if they want to speak to him."

Arfield has scored two goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season for the Clarets.

The Canada international joined Burnley from Huddersfield in 2013 and has since scored 22 goals in 193 appearances.

Arfield was born in Scotland and featured for them at U19 and U21 level before switching his allegiances to Canada.

He started his career in the Scottish Premiership with Falkirk, scoring 16 goals in 124 matches.

Meanwhile, talk in Norwich is that Wes Hoolahan is now a free agent after leaving the Canaries after a decade ... and supposedly Gerrard contacted him.

He'll be 36 in 12 days time and I would expect that we look at different choices in the attacking midfield department.
