The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

Some quiet whispers (!!!) that we look at Martin Björnbak, a 26-year old centre-half currently with Norwegian side Bodo Glimt.

Exactly the market we should explore ... and these chaps will be well in their pre-season if not league season by now.

Theoretically, exploring the Scandinavian leagues has always sounded appealing.

Then again, I'm still burned from Karl Svensson...

By default, Johannson and Lövenkrands and Laudrup are all Scandinavians too, as was Kai Johanson (sp?). Glass half-full full Loyal! :D

Scandinavians tend to adapt to the UK better and IMO there is better value for money available.

It's down to the scouting to pick those who can play a bit before they start playing too well.

Then we need an enviroment where more players actually improve.

Looking through the times there have not been a lot of really good defensive centre-back Scandinavians. Most of the real toppers are attacking players.

It's really about getting a partnership that functions consistently.

Alves could yet play a part.
