The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

So we made contact three weeks ago and the DR only got news of that today ... but knows we made no concrete offer (sic!):

Rangers target Nikola Katic set to join Spartak Moscow as defender heads to Russia for talks

Record Sport understands the Ibrox club made an enquiry about the 21-year-old defender three weeks ago.

Rangers target Nikola Katic is set to join Spartak Moscow as he prepares to head to Russia for talks.

Record Sport understands the Ibrox club made an enquiry to Croatian outift Slaven Belupo over the defender three weeks ago.

But there has been no concrete offer from Rangers and the 21-year-old is due in Moscow on Tuesday for discussions with the Russian giants.

Reports from Croatia initially linked the centre-back with a switch to Glasgow on Saturday night.

New boss Steven Gerrard has prioritised central defence in his Govan rebuild and Katic was identified as a target in May.

But he may now have to turn attention elsewhere as the once-capped Croatia international edges towards a move to Spartak.

Brighton defender Connor Goldson is due in Glasgow this week to put the final touches on his move to the Scottish Premiership.

BTW, even though FLHAD just remarked that there is nothing in that rumour, the only article linking Katic with Spartak comes from July 2017 ... and the pic is the very same as the one in the DR. Well, well ...

Surprise, surprise! :D
