The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

Been said Liverpool loan out their better prospects for free but you have too pay 100%of the wages and agree to start them in 70% of the games in agreed upon position.

We might have fallen but we sure as hell ain't guarantying starting positions for other teams youth players and nobody should want us too

I’m sure I read somewhere about a Liverpool youth that was on loan last season and dropped off late in the season form wise but they had to make that 70% mark... they didn’t hit it and got a fine in the contract for not giving him 70% of games.

we may not need him now given the start Middleton has made...

The post-match SG comments,  "serious lack of quality in the final third" and "I'm concerned with the lack of quality in the final third" almost sounded like a plain and blunt message for those in the boardroom.

At the sametime, if the reports of a 3M bid for another centre-half are correct then it heavily suggests we are waiting for a loan deal to bring in a forward with some perceived quality.

Not exactly a message to the board, IMHO. The latter enabled a mere 10 deals thus far and then there is this Cooper thing.

More like a timely reminder for Windass and Morelos to get their act together and rise - again - to the challenge. That said, we are not halfway through our pre-season yet.

It could well be that we have deals for a striker or two lined up, but their parent clubs or other technicalities hold them up. After all, the window does not close tomorrow. If it has to be loans, you'd obviously want experienced folk like Sadiq, not EPL 2 youngsters who will probably don't like the attention of their Scottish defenses' counterparts all too much.

I've said before, I think SG might have wanted to view a number of players in a "competitive" environment before making further changes.

It has been clearly evident that the defense has been lacking over the past couple of years.  However, we scored the most goals in the SPFL last season, so something was working up front.  Given how SG is setting up the team, he may have wanted to see how the existing forward line works with that setup.

Again, it might not mean wholesale changes upfront IF SG can instruct/guide the current forwards in a more effective way to operate.  What is clear now is that he has had 2 competitive & 1 friendly matches to see his "goal scorers" in action & clearly isn't overly impressed.

To tell Windass and Morelos that they seriously lack quality, opposed to say a lack of understanding/cohesion is more or less saying you ain't good enough and I need new, better and/or more committed players.

To get these you need finance..............

Sadiq plus one decent loan makes logical sense BUT IMO we seriously need to look at the Morelos situation and deal with it before this window closes.

dB, Sadiq isn’t experienced.
