The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Recommended Posts

You read these, take a mental note, and once a half decent media outlet has a similar info, you check whether that note has not fallen to dust by then.

The amount of brain-twisting that goes on with HITC, Transfer Tavern, Football Whispers, This is football et al bounds to extraordinary. Coming up with the most silly headlines on one and the same player ... and going even as far as saying that "Gerrard wants to sign XYZ" and only when you check the article out, you note that it is simply a wild suggestion by the author with no foundation whatsoever. Somesuch should by chased from the net, as it is clear outright lying.

We could get hung up on age instead of looking at capability. McAuley is experienced and has been playing at a good level for the last few years, way higher than SPFL. With his background he shouldn't have any problem 'fitting in' and having an experienced centre half sounds like a smart move to me. If he can guide young McCrorie like Davie Weir did to Danny Wilson once upon a time he'll be a good bit of business.

The squad needs experience, we're very light on that now, a handful of older senior pros is essential.

HITC is the worst football site on the net. Clickbaiting of the highest order.

A handful would be too many IMO, a couple would do.

I'd simply not even consider signing 38 year olds.

For every Davie Weir you'll get 3 Philip Senderos.

You're not wrong, but we need to look at how he's played at that good level. It was as part of a Pulis West Brom side that has 4 CBs in their back-four, and then a 4 in front for virtually the whole game. We will not be playing that way.

Can he then play when its opened up? I don't think so, simply because he's not that type of player, and he's getting on a bit.

We already have Alves, who, for me, is better.

Paddy McNair would be an excellent signing.

Obviously, there are no rumours there, just a picture of him at Ibrox.

However, he's actually been playing DM for Sunderland...
