Scott Arfield misses Rangers Macedonia trip through injury

Recommended Posts

The midfielder picked up an injury in the first leg of the tie against FK Shkupi.

Rangers have travelled to Macedonia for their match against FK Shkupi without midfielder Scott Arfield, STV understands.

Arfield was taken off in the 67th minute of the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying tie on Thursday, being replaced by Ovie Ejaria.

The injury that forced him off now appears to have ruled him out of the second leg and he was not part of the travelling party that left Glasgow Airport on Monday morning.

Arfield signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers in April, moving to Ibrox in the summer after his Burnley deal expired.

Rangers hold a 2-0 lead over Shkupi going into the second leg after goals from Jamie Murphy and James Tavernier gave them victory at Ibrox.

Given our experiences over the years, the lack of info about the injury sounds ominous.

Anyone know what it is ?

Was his knee as they put an ice pack on immediately after he left the field/
Know nothing other than that !

How dare you say Rangers fans over react! We are nothing if not calm and composed ??

Two weeks you say? That will be us out Europe , the league gone, Gerrard sacked and the end of all hope then???

Is it really a big deal anyway? Midfield is the one area where we have plenty of cover.

Midfield could do with a shuffle anyway. Plus docherty deserves a game due to being the fittest player back from pre season. Dedication should be rewarded. Though most likely jack or the boy from Liverpool will slot in.

Plenty of cover as you say
