Celtc statement re away game

It's interesting to see that they want us to discuss with them how many season  tickets we sell.

None of their business, Ibrox is our house. Do they want the 800 tickets or not?
Secondly, Rangers wish to know how many players they took with them on their trip to Japan.

Try as you may Celtic but Rangers will not accept a public guilt trip.

I would reckon that for many of their season ticket holders the entry into a ballot for tickets to Ibrox is a major incentive to renew their tickets. They are obviously experiencing a drop in demand for season tickets following  the reduced allocation.

It's a 'cake and eat it' statement.

They want to show their paying punters (to the PLC) some 'teeth' in the long known tit for tat measure (took them less than an hour to state their intentions when we first announced our decision) but at the sametime, they want to be seen as the reasonable 'let's talk and sort this out' type of guys.

The latter part has them tied up in knots and they break recent custom and call us by our name because you can't hope to be seen as reasonable when you are being schoolyard petty at the sametime. So this rebounds on them as many of their paying punters will be upset.

From their POV, they'd have been better not bothering.

Totally agree. When we ignore them they will be shown up as weak and needy. Stay away and don’t come back!

The club has sold out the full complement of season tickets, bar the 800 for the visiting fans, some empty seats for segregation and some restricted views. What can the SPFL do now. Make Rangers take back 8000 season tickets and refund the supporters, highly unlikely and if the club ever did contemplated such a ridiculous notion, it would be a humiliating climbdown.

As for sneaky Pete trying to influence himself as SPFL Pete, to bring in some agreement that clubs must get a set allocation for visiting supporters, same thing applies, home clubs must allowed to continue to set their own allocation for visiting fans, our home our rules.
