100-5 now, with Stokes taking two wickets after lunch.

Looking forward to the highlights later.

Check out Curran's inswinging Yorker to get Pandya lbw. Perfect.

Don't watch England's procession of dropped catches........

This isn’t white ball cricket. England has been a second rate test side for several years and why anyone would expect anything but a tanking from the best team in test cricket is anyone’s guess.

The "best team in test cricket" is getting a tanking.

Not so fast there, Buster. Never under-estmate the frailties of an English Test side.

No, let him splutter. He knows a tanking when he sees one. ?

Ebb and Flow

I think rather than English frailties, yesterday was about the performance of a great batsman and how he grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.

England have the advantage of bowling last and if they can set any type of semi-decent target, they'll still be favourites.

Both teams will be regretting their decision to ply only one spinner.

You are absolutely right about Kohli, the latest in the long line of master Indian batsmen but he was twice dropped and the number eleven was permitted to hang around for a fifty plus partnership. That wouldn’t have happened with Waugh’s Australians or old West Indies sides.

Having said that, if you bowl India out for less than three hundred you’ve not done too much wrong.

So, a finely balanced Test match, which is what we want, and why we love the proper game.

I still fancy India to win, primarily because its batting line up cannot fail en masse a second time. Can it?

Kohli rode his luck early on, but showed great patience, fortitude, and concentration, slowly, but surely, taking control of matters. The last wkt partnership was 51, with 50 to VK, and 1 to Yadav, which was masterly game management.

Yes it can, especially in the 4th innings.

So can England today though.
