Aberdeen 1 - 1 Rangers (Tavernier 30pen)

Recommended Posts

I've always had in head that we bought Bobby Russell for 200 quid.

I think I read it in the 'Playing for Rangers No.X'  book for that year in a chapter about the on-field understanding between him and Sandy Jardine.

It was a longtime ago and I might be completely wrong !

I thought Burnley would trash Aberdeen home and away. The current Clarets may be a way short of the calibre of their illustrious predecessors in European competition but you don’t finish as high up the EPL as they did without a considerable degree of competence. Nonetheless in two attempts, they could not beat a team of sheep over ninety minutes.

Are Aberdeen better than we think?

Will they be buoyed up by two creditable performances?

Or will they be drained by their considerable efforts at Turf Moor?

Who knows? Anyone?

Anything other that another tight battle will be a surprise.

We should have more ability to freshen up our XI but the home support will help spur on a tired Dons side.

Composure and good finishing will be a must.  Let's hope the officials are strong as well.

I think by the time Sunday comes around, both teams will be ready for what'll be a bit of a battle.

We've now got a team that won't be intimidated but we need to stay calm and not do anything silly that has a player sent off.

edit.

Kevin Clancy is ref

Surely you are not liking us to a small club like Burnley. We will shave the sheep by 3-0 believe me.

Once the player's go on to the park it's up to themselves to come to the fore and play to their very best and don't be scared to try the outrageous after all the faint heart won't win the fair maiden.

An excellent preview .
