Fan-zones, politicians and community spirit

Recommended Posts

Chickens appear to have one eye on the coop and will be coming home to roost pretty soon, one has to imagine.

The fact that the immediate response is to go "some of my family are Rangers fans" from McDonald, is such a classic deflection that absolutely nobody will buy.

Next step if they continue to prevaricate would be to make formal complaints to the Standards Commission for Scotland.  Section 7 of the Councillor's code of conduct should be all the referencing required for anyone making a complaint.

Quite a lot to take in but IMO Aitken/McDonald and Dornan have not adhered to the code.

This is about to get messy for them.  The funny thing is that some representatives from other political parties smell blood here and will continue with this until their perceived bias/corruption is exposed.  I'm now not bothered how or why this is exposed, but I'm just so relieved to see it happen.  This has gone on long enough.

Club 1872 Fanzone Correspondence – Susan Aitken and David McDonald

30 August, 2018

As of this morning, Club 1872 has received no response to its letters to Councillors Susan Aitken and David McDonald regarding the Ibrox Fanzone. We are aware that David McDonald has issued a statement via social media which completely fails to address any of the question marks over their involvement. Since neither he nor Susan Aitken has seen fit to respond to any correspondence, we are now releasing the letters publicly.

Until these points are answered in detail and until their role in this decision is publicly explained, Councillors McDonald, Aitken and Stephen Dornan should understand that this matter is not going to quietly disappear.
