MacK1950 2,224
Used to work for House of Fraser circa 1969-1973 when they took over old Baird Henderson group(with whom I started employment in 1968) HOF then had stores such as Dallas's,Arnotts,Muirheads, who catered for the less well off, as well as the flagship House of Fraser,a well run chain in those days by Sir Hugh Fraser. Even the lesser stores sold good quality goods, shame that quality might end with Fatman's take-over.
alexscottislegend 1,982
I for one will certainly be boycotting all of his stores. I too well remember Arnott Simpsons. Now we have crap 'outlets' filled with shoddy goods from the sweatshops of the world. To paraphrase Henry V111 'Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" in cthis case Ashley.
