The Premier League

The Villa are not in the EPL but they should be. They won’t though until they sack Steve Bruce. This bloke has done not much in his career. Barely gets into the Allardyce/Warnock class of manager. He’s favoured by the English media, though, in much the same way as the Two Jimmies and Jim Jeffreys/Billy Brown were idolised by the Sportsound fellows.

Hotspurs v Kloppsters tomorrow. Wouldn’t mind a ticket for that one. 2-2 perhaps.

A 2-1 away win for Liverpool who are beginning to look like the real deal. The first time since 1990 they have won the opening 5 league games and reportedly the win was a lot more emphatic than the score line suggests.

Liverpool March on Manchester City thump Cardiff and Burnley get their game going and Wolverhampton get a good result at Old Trafford.

Liverpool play away at Chelsea next Saturday. That will be an interesting encounter. Then at home to Man City the following week.

Well done, the Wolves.

Compo, you’ll be too young to remember the radio commentary when their wingers Hancock and Mullen destroyed Honved and Spartak in the days when those two teams wereEurope’s best?
