Someone needs to explain this madness about dorrans playing in the Windass role. 

 

"Roles" have switched when it comes to systems. IMHO, Dorrans is a normal central midfielder in a 4-4-2 who likes to go forward. That's where he played the large bulk of his games and scored most goals and assists.

Is he the shadow striker / central attack player in a 4-2-3-1 though? Can't remember that he actually played there for us. What we did though is putting him far too deep into mdifield and thus virtually nullfied his threat. When he comes back, I reckon he will play in a packed-midfield system like 3-5-2 or 3-4-3, but rarely in a 4-2-3-1. It is all up to SG. Same with Rossiter, who can play DM and CM as well as going forward. SG will know best ...

Are you referring to Paul Jackson Pete? If so, I have direct experience of him as he used to be my GP. My knowledge is a bit sketchy in this regard. Medicals used to be carried out at Ross Hall but I'm unsure of what the procedure has been of late prior to the recent change of them being carried out in Manchester. I would've assumed that specialist staff would carry out the medical and provide a report rather than our in-house medical staff being the personnel conducting the tests. The report would then presumably be okayed by someone on our staff.

 

If someone knows the exact chain of events, I'd be interested to find out.

 

To the best of my knowledge, Paul Jackson reverted to his previous role at Auchenhowie. If he's subsequently decided to leave, then that's news to me.

STEVEN GERRARD’S Rangers restructuring is set to continue with the arrival of Mark Waller as first-team doctor.

The 60-year-old is expected to move from Hull City.

Former Liverpool doctor Mark Waller is set to join Rangers

 

 

 

He is known to Gers boss Gerrard from the 17 years he spent at Anfield as Liverpool doctor.

Waller was credited with saving Gerard Houllier’s life in 2001 after he suffered chest pains at half-time during a game against Leeds United.

Houllier was rushed to hospital after Waller’s diagnosis and required emergency surgery.

The doc also worked at Aston Villa before five years at Hull.

Although I'm getting to the stage of almost completely ignoring recovery timescales that come from the club because they seldom come to pass.

Re Graham Dorrans 

 

I mentioned on @GersnetOnline podcast that the player openly told us he feared he was out the rest of the calendar year

 

He also mentioned he was seeing a new specialist in London. That happened last week & the player has responded to new treatment which is why we are 

Hopeful the player will return to training within the next ‘few weeks’. Fears of surgery now now allayed

 

The player still needs a pre-season & few reserves games so is still a few months away from match fitness but obviously much better than the calendar year.

 

Player himself Is desperate to return and play for his place in the team. Obviously good news for us

 

This confirmed by manager yesterday. 

 

Hopefully the series of injections continue to work & solve the problems. Obviously this has caused certain folk to have a go at me personally on other sites etc but it is what it is! 

 

I’m more glad it looks like he will be back a lot sooner

FWIW, I was told as far back as last year his career was in jeopardy so there's either someone pulling our plonker or the lad does have serious issues that need addressed.  Not sure if the various issues are linked to each other or if there's one main problem but fingers crossed his recuperation does happen fully this time and he's back playing asap.
