Just noticed that in tonight's two UEFA cup ties involving Chelsea and Arsenal there is only three English players between the two squads.

Got to think this is a step too far for Man Utd tonight yet they won at Juve in the group and away to PSG but Barca have to be a different level.

Juve should get the job done against Ajax although Id like to see the Dutch go through.

Man City v Spurs should be absolutely brilliant and then they meet again this Saturday in the league. Id rather see Man City win the league game.

The Juventus v Ajax tie is interesting,...a cynical old Lady taking on dashing but inexperienced legs.

I recall a CL final between these two in 1996, the De Boer twins started and Porrini was on the bench.

Juventus won on penalties. The only nation worse than the Italians on penalties being the Dutch....which leads into the fact that you had 9 Italians starting for Juventus and 8 Dutch for Ajax. Changed rules and changed days, last weeks 1st leg had 3 Italians starting for Juve and 5 Dutch for Ajax.

The 3 foreigner rule had it's downside but at least it helped there be more competition.

A talented young Ajax side had won the CL in 1995.

ps. Man Utd are humped !

I hope Ajax win it. It's going to be the only chance for this team which is going to be dismantled in the Summer as the money teams pick off the cream of the crop.

Yeah that’s already started as Barca have tied up de Jong and rumours are de Ligt is next.

United have a big rebuilding job ahead dont envy the manager the task

It's been apparent that they need to change things beyond the football operation for a number of years now #Woodward

To put it bluntly, they repeatedly make a horses arse of appointing the first team manager and their recruitment has been all over the place as well.

Thing is, what happened with Moyes, LVG and Mourinho was predictable.

They hired Moyes because SAF told them to but they weren't convinced, didn't really back him and got rid as soon as they could.

All you had to look was into LVG's history to see that his confrontational nature/style would come unstuck in England.

At Real Madrid and Chelsea, Mourinho had already showed the direction his management had taken and surprise, surprise.... he did it again.
