Look at the playoffs in English Championship. You can finish 6th and still get promoted.

But not as champions. ?

The CL is set up so that the top clubs in Spain, England, Germany and Italy are guaranteed the income, whereas clubs from smaller leagues have to struggle through several qualifiers to get there.  Although the football in this week's semis was terrific, the group stages are largely unimpressive.

We'll be lucky to see Rangers reach the group stages anytime soon.

That's another reason to congratulate Ajax on this season's terrific performance(s).  We won't be seeing much of that if the money keeps going to the big leagues, where their TV/advertising revenue already dwarves what we get in Scotland.

European competitions are fundamentally unfair. They’re set up to focus money in an elite group of clubs from major national leagues and have progressively disadvantaged the rest. UEFA is a parasite organisation that should be fostering the game where help is most needed but like all of football, it’s run by the few for the very few.

I agree with you Bill !

Ask yourself why this has developed in the way it has and what it relates to what has happened within the business culture, over the same time period.

Liverpool have a better team but I have a feeling Spurs' name is on the cup.  They should never have beaten City or Ajax (after losing the first leg at home) but they did.

2-1 Spurs.
