Not champions league, but I can’t believe the deluded tims I have been hearing from today. They actually expected to beat Valencia last night!! Apparently it’s all still to play for in the 2nd leg as well ?

They should get on to the media about that because they think it would take the equivalent of a footballing miracle to come back from this.

We’ve always known they’re deluded though.

 

the same Celtic that for about a dozen years could barely buy an away goal in Europe ? Lol

If one of the defensive mids is Fernandinho then they explained this at the weekend.  He plays defensive mid but if the opponents go to a 4-3-3 then he drops back to play as a CB in a back 4.  If they go 4-4-2 then he advances to give them numerical advantage in midfield.  It allows City to adapt their formation to the opponent without making substitutions.

 

It was against Chelsea that they deployed it and you could see that Fernandinho would drop very deep in certain situations, but then also be much further forward to make telling passes when the situation arose.
