Liverpool fans drool over Kent

Recommended Posts

They're taking a great interest in Rangers this season for obvious reasons. Stevie G and their loanees. There have been hints Kent may be permanently signed but currently that's looking a little more tricky and possibly more expensive. Judging from all I have heard Kent himself could be interested in a permanent move.

Patrick Roberts was treated like the preverbial wonderkid by the Scottish press and Celtic couldn't afford him at the end of a long loan spell. The fact was that his parent club were never going to use him in their first team and now he can't get a game for Girona in La Liga lay bare his actual level which seems to be fairly comfortable in Scotland but not in more testing conditions.

I think Ryan Kent might well be in a similar boat apart from him not getting proportionate attention from the media.

- Good for us

- Not good enough for Liverpool (no disgrace given at what level they operate)

- Too expensive for us to buy him

The Gerrard/Liverpool link seems to have concentrated the minds of our loanees from Merseyside and they are contributing much more than the average loan player. This is worth a great deal and we should enjoy it whilst we have it.

Games such as this weeks EL tie against Spartak is where Ryan Kent has to really shine if he wants to make Klopp sit up and take some notice.

Lets face it Brian Laudrup was a failure at most other clubs across Europe and he did all right for us. If Kent gets near his level then he would certainly be worth spending some money on him.

I agree but at club level he never really hit the heights he should have.

Problem was that he's very much a free roving attacker and nigh all clubs put him in one certain spot, e.g. left wing, where he failed to shine. Walter handed him the freedom he craved.
