We have far too many defensive midfielders anyway. Coulibaly, Jack Rossiter, McCrorie. Docherty would be a good option but wouldn’t be the number 10 type player we need.

We don't so much need a No.10 we need a player who can split defences with a pass and find that No10. Probably we need both in a perfect world.

We don't play with a 10. We generally play with two 8s, like Ejaria and Arfield; players that can break the lines and pass. Those two are good, but outwith them it's more defensive. Coulibaly is a destroyer playing in the 8 position, but he's not creative.

 

If he has the legs, Davis could be quite good; he's got a good passing range, a knack for space etc. However, he has been playing DM as he's gotten older. I'm also a tad underwhelmed at just recruiting former players, basically recreating the Walter/Ally squad from 2011/12 (?).

 

We really do need striking options to alongside some creative players that can play 10 or 8.

Hate to say it but as he is now a liability Morelos can go,forgot about Docherty get him back.Really missing Kent as well and in a way Dorrans.

Dorrans has the quality to play the 8/10 role behind the striker so it’s gutting he can’t keep fit. Same for Murphy. 

 

I’d consider playing Grezda in an attacking midfield centre position until we have another option (where Windass used to play) and going back to 4-2-3-1.
