The Scottish winter stop is the most stupid thing there is as the period after means playing 2 games a week. That is not releasing pressure on the players it is putting more pressure on them.

Not to mention that the winter weather of last 4/5 years has been worse in Feb.

 Absolutely. When you think about how many international breaks there are too it’s really not necessary. Only makes for a very stop start league season.

Our team was knackered towards the end of December, with injuries mounting up; I'm thankful for the break to hopefully see us refreshed and prepared to go again.

This break came at exactly the right time for us IMHO .

I think tiredness was used by our fans as an excuse for poor performances and a failing team set up. We only played one more game than the rest of our opponents in December (bar Celtic) who have far leaner squads than ours.

Bar Celtic ,we had played 17 games more than every other team in the league , almost double what everyone else has played

The tiredness wasn't just accumulated in December.  As rbr rightly says, given our European exploits we had played almost double every other team bar Celtic.
