He "has the position on merit" ?  Did he have the position on Sunday against Livvy ?

Nobody has said he has done anything wrong.  But I am sure the majority would agree that Barasic is the first choice LB.

Until and unless SG confirms one or the other we are all guessing I suppose

Hardly guesswork.

Barisic is a clear first choice.

The matches he is picked for demonstrate it.

I love Halliday but Barisic is a far better player. Funny enough the pitch was probably better last time round as tonight. Every chance the opposition get are Rangers manufactured. Hand-ball was a stonewall penalty. Davis penalty claim I can get as the other player clearly got the ball. I thought Katic claimed his place as first team CH. Second half was very poor and I would say I don't think any of the fringe players put up an argument for a first team start.

Halliday shouldn't be anywhere near the first XI, in my opinion.

I would have agreed with that last season but definitely not this season. He shows a lot more grit and determination than some of his teammates.

Halliday has been one of our best players this season, when some fans dislike a player nothing that players does will ever change their mind.
