Compliance officer decision on Defoe

I hope BBC Sportscene pundits Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson are upset about this.

Michael Stewart is apparently sitting by his TV, desperately awaiting the kick off at Pittodrie, in order to find the next Rangers incident to work himself into a lather about.

He's the 'pundit' to Phil McMadeupname's 'blogger' and Neil Lennon's 'manager'.  Chris McLaughlin is often on conference calls with them and simply repeats...."My precious!".  His wife takes down the minutes.

Having watched it over again I think Defoe may have been instinctively preparing to ride an incoming tackle and simply lost balance. Goes over and immediately springs back up to challenge for the ball expecting play to continue.

Any punishment inflicted on him would have amounted to him being punished for a refereeing decision.

The media witch hunt regarding our players is extra-ordinary. Obviously, it is mainly driven by the same lot - since these chaps are in the pole positions on TV and radio week in and week out. They set the tone and certain individuals follow up. Unless this changes, this rubbish will go on and on and will keep this hostile atmosphere up as long as it gets. Add some paranoia re "stopping the 10" and the recipe for more is nicely brewing.

IMHO, the club should have - long ago - removed media accreditations for certain individuals, people who time and again show a definite anti-Rangers bias or follow a certain agenda. Shall BT or Sky or the like cry foul, there are more than 2 commentators and presenters out there to cover our games at Ibrox. It is their obligation to send people of a certain quality.

Fans can't advocate conflict with media and also reasonably expect a fair crack of the whip.

Actions tend to have consequences.

That doesn't make it right, far from, especially wrt the public broadcaster.
