No class whatsoever. He should really get punished for warning them not to rescind it what is that all about, imagine warning the referee not to book you.

And what a strike it was from Defoe.  More than comfortable taking his first touch with his favoured right foot and then unleashing a thunderbolt with his left.

Glad we have him for 18 months (assuming Bournemouth don't recall him) - once he is up to speed and makes connections with team-mates he could be lethal.

Want to see us do whatever we can to get Kent permanently though - yet again was unplayable at times.

Defoe was lethal tonight already.:D

Defoe is class and would score plenty if he started every game. His first touch was world class as well as the finish. With Morelos you’ve just no idea what’s going to happen in that situation but with Defoe you just knew he’d make no mistake. As soon as he came on you felt that all he would need is one chance and it would be game over, very clever sub from Gerrard.

I will let the Ferguson one go because McGregor's high foot into the shin of Ferguson could have been red and a penalty. We were lucky there.

Strangely enough Willie Miller was vehemently defending McGregor's part in that incident, along the lines of if you have a young player running at you in that situation then you have to look after yourself, because it's either you or him.

He got it spot on on this occasion, never a penalty.

To me, it looked like the sheepie player was intent on leaving something on McG. He saw that the keeper was in control of the situation but ran on anyway, with a view to fouling him. th
