[FT] Aberdeen 2 - 4 Rangers (Morelos 20, 38; Tavernier 43pen; Defoe 90+5)

Great result, great spirit shown by the players tonight, Morelos was not a red card, Ferguson should have been shown a red card for his kick at Shagger.

Delighted to see Defoe scoring, great strike. SG got his subs correct and we got the win, brilliant 3 points.

7 added minutes, well well.

We seemingly lost it after Morelos red card, which should be appealed, as he tangled his legs with McKenna, but did not stamp or anything that warranted red.

While on the ground I remarke over on the German board that he should go off here and now, as Madden will sure produce a yellow still, but then the red came out.

We gave them far too much space, never che#ased Mackay-Steven and Shinnie as we should have (Coulibaly did at the end) and they were coming at us time and again. Utterly unnecessary.

Well earned victory ...

Coulibaly a touch like an elephant.

Rubbish, he at least chase Shinnie about, which others hardly did for nigh the full 2nd half. Shinnie and Mackay-Steven make Aberdeen tick and Tav was far too lenient and lackadaisical with GMS, which nearly cost us.

The match after the red cards tells you all you need to know about Morelos, McKenna and their respective importance.

We were struggling without Morelos and Aberdeen never missed McKenna.

One is irreplaceable and the other was completely expendable.

7 minutes was appropriate dB.  3 minutes for all the subs (there were 6) and it probably did take about another 3 to work through the Morelos/McKenna incident - only one more on top of that.

Well taken goal by Defoe from yet another Tav assist prevented the almost inevitable last gasp equaliser.,....breath !!!

Morelos 15 league goals and 4 assists (19)

Tav 9 league goals and 9 assists (18)

Top two of the combined list.

Lovely finishes from Morelos tonight.

His suspension cost us any chance of the League Cup.

He's started the same way in the Scottish Cup,...at least it won't be Sadiq.

What a match!

Thought we were done for in the second half.

When the chance fell to Defoe you knew what the outcome would be.

And what a strike it was from Defoe.  More than comfortable taking his first touch with his favoured right foot and then unleashing a thunderbolt with his left.

Glad we have him for 18 months (assuming Bournemouth don't recall him) - once he is up to speed and makes connections with team-mates he could be lethal.

Want to see us do whatever we can to get Kent permanently though - yet again was unplayable at times.
