You can bet any appeal will be fast-tracked in time for Saturday evening.

I tried to see if there were any guidelines on this but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know how long do we have to appeal? Could we do it on Saturday and make it impossible for a hearing to take place?

Meanwhile ... Defoe has been here for 4 Premiership and 1 Cup game. He's scored 3 goals and assisted another 4. Some return ...

196 league minutes

3 goals

1 every 66 minutes

90 Cup minutes

1 goal

--------

If he could get his Cup ratio down to 66 minutes this weekend we'd be ok

He can appeal against last nights Red Card.

Fast Track appeals are normally held on a Thursday, but if we appeal late afternoon, it is unlikely the appeal will be held today, which would leave him free to play on Saturday, in the same way that Stewart was free to play (and score) against us for Killie earlier in the season, whilst waiting for his appeal to be heard.

4.1 Where a player is reported for a sending off offence, and that player has also been Determined by a Tribunal to have committed an additional sending off offence in the same match , or has previously been reported for a sending-off offence in the same Competition in a Season, an additional suspension of one match for each previous sending-off offence will be applied.

4.2 Any additional suspension shall become effective on the 14th day following the date of the match at which the sending-off offence occurred and shall apply to the Competition where the sending off offence was reported.

Hopefully this red card will be rescinded - but I doubt it. In any case we still have to be able to win games without Morelos and that will have to mean a different set up with two up front because Defoe isn't going to pressuring defences on his own the way Morelos does.

There is no doubt that Alfredo needs to cut out his antics and retributive stuff, but the amount of ridiculous yellows and reds he alone has received is extraordinary. If we had boxed "clever", he should have been brought from the field holding his face ... and Madden might have seen it differently. Thus, he came up, no real visible injury and looking "fine". That said, I'm a friend of sportsmanship and wouldn't like our people fake any sort of injury. That said (Mk. II) ... we have been on the end of some horrendous tackles and fouls which at times did not even received a yellow card retribution for the offender.
