Ban upheld and he gets two games.

This is an absolute farce of a CO and CO panel. I would really like to know who decided on that and read a full explanation.

No way! I just mentioned in another thread if the Jack challenge was a yellow then they had to overturn this? Ian is bang on, they won’t allow us to win the league.

  • Frankie changed the title to Allan McGregor's two game ban stands

This is 100% down to media pressure, after Morelos was seen to have ‘got off’ with a few challenges against Celtic & we successfully appealed a few bans before. Every keeper in the land has came out for a ball on the edge of the box like that, as much to stop them sliding out & giving away a free kick. Lewis Ferguson should have got a red for retaliation, so the debt was paid on the pitch. Authorities should not be getting involved in incidents like this!

Rangers demand review of SFA’s disciplinary system after Allan McGregor’s ban

RANGERS have demanded the SFA review its disciplinary system as 'a matter of extreme urgency' after Allan McGregor lost his appeal against a two-game ban.

Gers keeper McGregor today failed in his bid to overturn the ban imposed for a studs-up challenge on Aberdeen's Lewis Ferguson during his side's 4-2 win.

Referee Bobby Madden took no action at the time but compliance officer Clare Whyte issued the punishment after reviewing TV evidence.

McGregor attended the Hampden hearing in person to plead his case but was unable to get the punishment overturned.

The Ibrox club also failed in an appeal against the red card dished out to Alfredo Morelos in the same game with the Gers striker currently serving a three-game ban.

Rangers said in a statement: "Rangers has no option other than to accept this decision.

"However, it is abundantly clear questions about the current disciplinary system, which we believe is flawed, must be posed.

"Rangers has been in dialogue with the Scottish FA on this topic for some time and would argue that the system is now thoroughly reviewed as a matter of extreme urgency."

The compliance officer has been busy this week after a number of recent controversial incidents.

Kilmarnock's Alan Power faced no further punishment despite catching Gers midfielder Ryan Jack in the face with a high boot.

St Mirren's Paul McGinn also escaped a ban despite smashing his arm into the face of Dundee United's Cammy Smith.

But Hibs' Darnell Johnston was hit with a two-game ban for crunching into Celtic's Emilio Izaguirre in the Hoops' 2-0 win last Wednesday night.

Sorry I find that the correct decision. Morelos was a wrong decision but this was correct. McGregor knew what he was doing. I don't like that we will be missing McGregor for 2 games but keepers can't be free to make tackles like that.

What I do find a talking point is why did Morelos get an extra game for appealing and McGregor doesn't.

Consistency is what everyone is complaining about!
