Compliance on Power

That was not an overhead kick, so no need to take them out of the game. If the ball had hit his boot, studs or otherwise, he would have had no control of it, it could have gone anywhere.
Before he goes for the ball he had looked twice at Jack and knew exactly where he was, it was probably a deliberate act of intimidation to prevent Jack from trying to head the ball.
McGregor and Power are two entirely different incidents so whataboutary won't work.
The ref got it wrong and so has the CO.

You can paint it as black as you like but he was going for the ball imo. Maybe we should try and get him charged with attempted murder.

He may have been going for the ball, but he did so completely recklessly, to the endangerment of his opponent, and, in fact, kicked him on his head, when that head was at, well, head height.

Given that every contact sport now employs extreme caution re head injuries and potential head injuries, and have changed Laws, Protocols, etc, accordingly, it is ludicrous for Scottish Fitba' to assert that Power's action was acceptable, and warranted merely an admonition. He should have been dismssed.

An interesting point to ponder: if Power had been given a red card, and had appealed it and the concomitant sanctions, what would the verdict have been?

It's all about opinions as you've said,

In my opinion if you go for a ball kicking that high (head height) you know yourself it's more than likely going to be dangerous and you could (as he did) kick someone in the face/head/eyes/ears and do some real damage.

He knew what he was doing IMO and it could easily have been a lot worse for Jack.

He knew Jack was there all right, the fact he looked at him and seen him! why did he raise his boot that high if he never knew anyone was there? why didn't he wait for it to drop or jump and head it away?. Red card all day long.

Had a look at the highlights from Russian Rangers again and Power can hardly claim not to see Jack before raising his boot. If the panel and CO decides there is insufficient evidence, they are lying.

If it had been Morelos the red card would have been out before the opposing fell after the tackle.

Looks like a couple on here are succumbing to the all Rangers do is bad scenario by trying to defend that tackle.

I agree but that is another argument.

The ball was coming over his head and that was the only option to play it.

Pete, you don't think it was a red, other people do! that's football.

It’s a red all day long. His foot is in a position that can cause serious or life threatening injury. It’s aggressive in its action and imo intent. It dosnt matter if he ”ment” to hurt the player. If Shagger is a red then that’s a “double red”.
