Bill 13,687
Did anyone see the World Club Challenge between Wigan Warriors and Sydney Roosters this evening? I don't watch rugby league very often but I was hugely impressed at the sporting spectacle of this match. None of the posing indiscipline of football and without the increasingly interrupted format of rugby union, where it now seems to take an age to organise scrums and line outs. For sheer endeavour and non-stop action, tonight's game was as good an example of honest sporting contest as I've seen for a long time. Impressive.
Scott7 5,009
RL is brilliant. Miles better than RU. Less beautiful than football when football’s played at it’s best which isn’t often unfortunately.

What surprised me was how much better than RU I thought it was.
Gonzo79 13,349
I think football is becoming too one-sided (teams with most money win all the time - Juventus, Bayern Munich, Baca/Real Madrid etc), plus it's mainly played by mercenaries and over-analysed endlessly on various TV channels. There are far less unique players and far more tactically aware managers. I have never watched rugby league but I'll bet it suffers far less from the issues I've mentioned (apart from the last one).
