Does fs not mean that canny Scots, unimpressed by coins and notes embossed with the thistle and the haggis, will be heading ower the border to get real money from the banks in England?

I think the approval of the UK Parliament will be required. Ah, puir auld Scotland.

I'd certainly be shifting my Sterling south of the Border in advance of it being converted against my will into Jockerooni's.

Quote from Nicola Sturgeon before the first independence referendum in 2014.

“Having a new currency in Scotland would cost businesses hundreds of millions of pounds in transaction costs. That’s a considerable bill for every business that exports. Why would they choose to put on their businesses millions of extra unnecessary expenditure when they’re in a currency union at the moment? That position doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think you’d get very far with that argument.”
