Barton at it again

Recommended Posts

Put it in here as a former Rangers player.

The reports in various media is he lost it yesterday after the match away to Barnsley. After his player was sent off he was arguing with the 4th official and the Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel just asked him to leave it for now.

After the match which Fleetwood lost 4-2 he ran down the tunnel after Stendel and was met with being called a f***** scally to which Barton responded with a headbutt and punch leaving Stendel covered in blood and losing two teeth.

So confirming Stendel’s assessment.

Barnsley: Police arrest man over 'tunnel row' at League One club

Before the alleged incident, Barnsley moved back into the League One promotion places after beating 10-man Fleetwood 4-2

A man has been arrested following an alleged altercation between Fleetwood boss Joey Barton and Barnsley head coach Daniel Stendel at Oakwell.

The man attended a police station on Wednesday where he was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and racially aggravated assault.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Barnsley complained to the FA and the EFL about the incident in the tunnel after Saturday's League One game.

South Yorkshire Police, which earlier appealed for witnesses, said inquiries were ongoing.

"Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have caught the incident on camera or who may have any mobile phone footage immediately before or after the incident occurred," a police statement said.

"Racially aggravated" ... being called a "f****ng scally"? Are we talking about Barton here or someone else, e.g. the provocing Stendel?

Anyway, it is always reeking of double-standards when we slam someone doing what 9 out of 10 normal people would do under these circumstances. Stendel here is as much a "victim" as Brown was. I remember the shame game at the Scumhut where Diouf and Bartley got it tight and racially from the Scum folk and only major restraint from Weiss and Co. spared us some serious fighting, same with McCoist and TLB. People will sure disagree, but at times you would hope that certain people really have their faces sorted and feisty grins removed rather than dignified silence and restraint, which essentially only leads to the situation that we have nowadays, where Scum people and players alike can do what they like and get away with it, while we suffer and suffer and suffer. In that respect, you do like the game of icehockey, where players may very well have a bout or two on the ice, get their 2 or 5 mins in the sin bin to cool down and get on with it.
