Rangers looking for Matchday staff

Recommended Posts

Rangers Football Club are currently recruiting for staff to work on matchdays during the upcoming season.

The Gers are looking for recruits to take on positions of responsibility around Ibrox Stadium during the 2019/20 campaign.

The positions available, which are handled by Elior UK, range from Concourse Supervisors through to Kiosk Assistant. The club are also looking for Cooks and Stock Room Assistants.

Applying for the positions is simpler than you might think, with several drop in days at the stadium over the next few weeks.

Applicants will be able to turn up at the Ibrox Suite on June 5, June 25 and July 1 between 4pm and 6:30pm to apply.

The listing on Rangers' website does not state if a cover letter or CV are required, instead asking for you to bring a National Insurance number, bank details and a valid passport or birth certificate.

  • Rousseau changed the title to Rangers looking for Matchday staff

BTW, what works quite well over here - at least at icehockey games* - is so-called "fan-stewards" keeping order in certain sections, e.g. "fan-corners" and "standing areas". That is, a selected number of people would - for example - handle "first line" stewarding of the Union Bears or any other Ultra section. People who come from that band and who can handle a certain amount of safety and steward jobs still. Second line would be normal security supervisors and police. It probably won`t succeed 100 % from the off, but needs top grew over a few years.

And it is handled not by male bullies only, but chaps and lassies of all age groups who have the respect of their fellow fans.

* They draw an average of 10 to 14k each game here.
