With regard to radio I have not listened to any BBC station for at least 25 years. I can't say Ive ever noticed any BBC bias towards England, which infers there must be a bias against someone else, but simply a reflection of the respective gravitational pull of England and Scotland. Certainly, at one time, the BBC did demonstrate a bias towards the Kremlin and has a current infatuation with everything Islamic and politically left wing. Agreed though that the empire building proliferation of channels is absurd. Radios 1, 3, 5, 6 and Asian could be scrapped tomorrow without any loss of public amenity. On the TV side BBC3 and BBC 4 could go too. And while we're at it, don't forget that the soviet nostalgia service of Channel 4 is also publicly funded and is also a colossal waste of taxes. At the very least, the BBC needs to shed a load of stuff from the edges.
ranger_syntax 3,715
Makes me sick to think of all that money being taken from over-75s to pay millions to Gary Lineker et al.
Gonzo79 13,349
Laura Kuenssberg comes from a rather well-to-do background. I'm sure she'd manage to get by without her ridiculous salary. She sort of sums the entire BBC up for me. Posh Londoners who think they know best and look down their noses at the rest of us whilst desperately trying to dismantle the very social structure that allowed them such a free reign to do so.

Gonzo79 13,349
All Southerners (below the Watford gap) are Londoners to me. She may be from above there but she's one of them anyway. The sneer is the giveaway.
