I’ll have to swot a bit after the weekend debacle.

Wouldn’t mind going to Deepdale tonight, Preston North End v league leaders West Bromwich Albion. A reprise of the 1953/54 FA Cup Final. Centre forward and club legend Ronnie Allen scored twice for the Albion in their 3-2 victory over a side containing two minor Scottish internationalists, Willie Cunningham and some chap called Docherty. Preston also had the famous Tom Finney.

Albion finished second in the league that season behind Wolves.

Liverpool were relegated, finishing last!

Many will tell you that the Preston plumber was a far better player than Sir Stanley Mathews

We have two teams in the premiership managerless no doubt they will probably employ some foreigner with a fancy name why the heck dont these two go for one of the young English coaches .

Bill and Craig elsewhere were suggesting Potter or Howe for Arsenal with some approval for Rogers as well.

The radio this am say Everton may be looking at a Spanish named bloke I’d never heard of.

Pereira, who apparently also interviewed for the Chelsea job in the summer.  Is with a Chinese club and his contract is seemingly worth 30 million
