How about Club1872 selling its shareholding and making a soft loan to the club - to be converted to shares within, say, ten years?

There is the question of quantum. How much compensation could SD reasonably claim, given that the support boycotted SD, and sales only returned to a 'normal' level for the Club when retail deals were struck with other suppliers/distributors. In other words, evidentially SD may not be able to demonstrate much loss at all, based on previous turnovers.
