Blackburn Friendly Live On RTV

The unlimited contract is a no brainer for me.  Like you, I won't  go to any away games (except occasionally in Europe) so it's a great way to keep following and supporting.  The commentary is great, unlike the anti Rangers nonsense you get on the other channels, and of course all the money goes to our club.  That's a win, win, win scenario if ever there was one.

I know some people have criticised the commentary from Tom and others but I like it because they react the same way any fan would when we score, or if we lose a goal, or get a man sent off.  I don't want to hear a Celtic fan gloat when we lose, just as I don't want to hear an Aberdeen fan silent when we score.  I want the reaction from a fellow bear and that's what you get.  I would say it's added a huge amount of value to my enjoyment of watching our games on TV.  I'd recommend it to anyone.

I'm one of the main critics of the Rangers TV commentary but have never criticised the partisanship, that's to be expected, and I haven't seen anyone else  do so either.

The big criticism I have of football commentators is they never shut up and sadly RTV is no different. It's my only gripe with RTV mind you but why do all commentators feel they must fill every second with inane drivel? I feel perfectly able to watch the play and make my own assessments. I expect commentators to discuss controversial events or to inform me of things that might not be covered by the camera - otherwise for fucks sake shut up for five seconds.

I quite often turn the sound down when I'm watching football on TV.

Football is far too over-analysed nowadays and the commentators and co-commentators end up blethering drivel half the time.

As I said in another thread; I thought Steven Smith was good today.  More in the style of when pundits first started taking part in live commentary.
