He might not be what we need but he’s a long way from being the last thing we need.

The last things we need are Scotland leaving the Union and a 1970s Socialist Worker seller becoming PM.

When you think about it, Boris isn’t even close to being the last thing we need.

I agree to a degree but his ascent to power could lead to the things you mention. That's dangerous in my opinion he won't bring the stability the country needs.

It is what it is. He's going to be our PM because the country elected a party that's entitled to choose the leader it wants. They've done that and none of the stability you're looking for will be achieved by sniping at someone who hasn't yet been in office and therefore cannot be judged. Let's see what he does over the next 100 days and judge him at Halloween.

Listening to LBC in the car earlier this evening and Farage is hosting his programme. The discussions are all about Brexit and Boris becoming PM. Farage then drops into the conversation that he'd been talking to Trump, who had told him he thought Boris would make a better PM than the last one. I couldn't help wondering how many other people chat directly with the US President. Like him or loathe him, Farage is now moving in fairly exalted circles.

If I was a Labour man the last thing I'd want to see coming over the hill would be a general election. Despite Brexit (copyright BBC) and Boris, anyone stupid enough to think this country will elect Corbyn's racists deserves all the disappointment that's coming their way.

I watched his speech.  He kept speeding up and was almost frenzied at one point.

As a Unionist, I have serious concerns about him becoming PM.  As a Leave voter, I hope he'll get Brexit over the line but wouldn't bet on it.

It’s entirely in keeping with modern politics that we should strive to ensure future failure by focussing all possible attention on past failure and ignoring the present at all costs.
