MacK1950 2,224
Scots rugby team as shit as football team-shambolic.
Bill 13,686
Who knew Uruguay could play like that? Two million fewer people than Scotland but twice the heart on that evidence.
compo 5,952
Thought Fiji were rather disappointing but well done Uruguay.

Bill 13,686
Whatever way you look at it, Japan's win over Ireland, Ireland's bonus points against Scotland and Japan, and Japan's bonus point against russia all but sends Scotland home before they even play their second game.

Not really, how do you work that out with 3 group games still to play. Scotland just need to win the next game and get a bonus point and its on par - It will come down to the game against Japan. So far France win over Argentina is the biggest result of the tournament, that gives them an advantage in the group of death. As they are in the other half of the draw from New Zealand the 33/1 each way bet is looking good.
compo 5,952
A win earlier today that puts us into third in the section on five points behind Ireland six points and the Japs on nine points
Bill 13,686
To the extent it matters, only three teams in this group are winning any games. If we lose to Japan, we're out. If we beat Japan but don't get a bonus point, we're out. If we beat Japan and get a bonus point but Japan also gets a losing bonus point, we're out. So to qualify for the next stage we need to beat Japan, scoring at least four tries and winning by a margin of more than seven points. On current form, that seems a very tall order indeed.
