The Conservatives are set to lose all their Scottish seats to the SNP in a general election, a new poll suggests.

There are 13 Tory MPs in Scotland, but the YouGov poll for the People's Vote campaign indicates they would all be replaced by the SNP.

The polling, which was conducted exclusively in Conservative-held constituencies across Scotland, points to a 14% drop in the party's vote share in these seats, down from 44% to 30%.

Meanwhile, the vote share for the SNP is predicted to rise from 34% to 42%.

The poll shows a majority of voters in these constituencies would vote to keep the UK in the EU in a new referendum, by 63% to 37%, excluding non-voters and don't knows.

More than half (51%) back a new public vote on Brexit, rising to 58% when don't knows are excluded. About a third (33%) of those questioned back leaving the EU with no Brexit deal if Parliament continues to vote against a withdrawal agreement.

Pollsters also found more people oppose a general election before October 31 than support the idea of a poll before the Brexit deadline, at 37% to 41%.

Questioned about the impact of Brexit, respondents believed by three to one it would leave the economy weaker

Well maybe they will get their wish and start using the Euro in a few years after a period with their own currency (whatever that will be as the SNP didn't have an answer in 2014) and when the Scottish economy qualifies for inclusion following the tighter rules since Greece was shoe horned in. Unlike Ireland there will be a hard border and nearly 70% of trade will be affected at a time of reducing oil revenues and ancillary oil industry jobs  as well as the end of that pesky "Westminster bonus" of £2k (20% ) per head above those of England when the Barnett formula ends.  I suggest people think again.

Sadly the Scottish electorate has never voted with their heads.

I’ve always opposed independence as I think it’s totally unaffordable without massive spending cuts & eye-watering tax increases. One need only look at theGERS figures to see what I mean

Just watch the people pursuing independence most vigorously, scream loudest for someone to bail them out if independence ever happens. The pain of returning to the 1970's will be excruciating. Meanwhile, I'll be standing at the border, looking in and laughing.

YouGov for the Sunday Times (fieldwork Thurs/Fri) Con 35% (-) Lab 21% (-4) LDem 19% (+3) Brexit 12% (+1) A week of turmoil and Johnson seems to be defying gravity

Even with a damaged Tory party, nobody wants the Corbyn & McDonnell puppet show.

I suspect that some in the Brexit Party will vote Tory if there is a chance of Labour winning on their local patch.
