Hi guys just watched a programme called "flog it" on our favourite broadcaster BBC.

What's the reason for my post?.

It highlighted the word ****** regards a medal being sold on behalf of a participant who explained that it was for a battle between the British Army and the Irish Army in Canada.

The inscription on the medal read "****** Raid 1866" which the British won,so maybe Brits were up to their knees in ****** blood.

I pulled Powar up about his stereotyping of Jewish people while at KIO. I think it was in a newsletter email. He denied it of course. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can find it.

When Piara Powar was in charge of Kick It Out, the KIO newsletter of 8 June 2007 stated:

"It has taken 25 years for a professional Jewish Football League player to break through - so meet Joe Jacobson, proof that this community does not stop at owning clubs and trading players."

It's stereotyping Jewish people but Powar didn't see it that way and didn't have a problem with it, which presumably fits in with his political views.

Unfortunately I can't find his reply to me.

I doubt his views will have changed much though, so he is an open goal. There is a lot of Antifa stuff on his twitter, & anti Semitic comments 12 years ago can still be used against him, if anybody had the political guts (or time) to go after the head of an ‘anti-racist’ lobbying group.

You see, the flew the flag before and got fined. Somewhat later, ONE flag was seen during a St. Johnstone UEFA Cup game and they were fined 16k or the the like. When the Scum played Hapeol a few years ago, UEFA demanded that no offensive and political stuff would appear in or around the stadium. Right on cue, the handed out miniture Palestinian flags and info material inside the ground with the police escorting the 50odd Israeli fans through the assembled masses. Inside, the whole Green Brigade block and corner was a sea of Palestinian flags ... methinks they got fined half the amount that St. Johnstone paid for one flag. Utterly beyond joke. You'd wish Hapeol had simply made a stand and pointed at the clear breach of ruls, not just by the Hooped Horrors, but the stewards, police and Scum FC.

I checked this and Celtic got almost the exact same fine as St Johnstone that year (2014) for the same charge. They were fined less in 2016 which suggests Uefa changed the way they calculate some fines in those two years.

But the Hapoel and the Linfield fines are the ones that this whole incident brings to my mind. How do you get a part stadium closure for singing a word which some people (not at the game) find offensive (others find a compliment) but get a tiny fine (a couple of days wages for most Celtic players) for doing as much as you can to directly incite visiting fans on the most sensitive matters possible (conflicts in their countries). It really does beggar belief.

i've seen some suggestion AJAX fought a similar charge from uefa successfully after playing celtc in 2013

The got the fine reduced from €50K to €25K and partial closure reversed. I presume that we're not able to appeal, plus it's not our first offence.

A further charge from the Legia away leg now.

As such club will refuse tickets for our next away European match.

Probably merits another thread. Seems strange that this time they have actually announced charges before the verdict and punishment - why didn’t they do this the last time? We can only speculate about what is going on behind the scenes but we are finished in European football at this rate!
