Overall i preferred him as i right back but he did have a good run in the midfield. The thing that played against him in some games was the other midfielders werent good enough or they were also guys out of position, this was in Mcleish era. Big Bert Konterman played as a holding midfielder and we had Mlandovic and Stephen Hughes. But Fernando put up one hell of a fight in the past few years against this illness and im sure he will get a massive tribute tonight. Read he feared his daughter who was only 2 at the time would have no memory of him.
