[FT] St Johnstone 0 - 4 Rangers (Morelos 47; Goldson 61; Defoe 88, 90)

A very resounding victory after a very slow and pedestrian start. Ryan Jack was immense again today and in felt Barisic put in another decent performance too.

Yet again though the main talking point is the goal that wasn't a goal yet the our penalty claim seems to have been forgotten about.

It might actually be a more impressive result than we may think at first glance. Yes they're bottom of the league but aside from a hiding from the yahoos at the piggery on the opening day of the season their record since then isn't all that bad.

Their last outing before today resulted in a 1-1 draw away at the sheep pen plus they have had draws away at hubz and home against Livi which gives them their 3 points. Their only other defeat aside from us and the yahoos was a narrow 1-0 loss to Killie.

If you only considered fixtures 2,3,4 and 5 then St Johnstone would rise all the way to 3rd bottom of the league.

Re Tav ....

... imagine we throw in Polster and he would have slept like Tav did when O'Halloran sneaked in only to be denied by McGregor. We would hear the end of him getting slaughtered for being useless.

As with Flanagan (in Europe) before (despite Barisic coming in with some good performances), there should be no favouritism with any player. Sadly enough, Tav can hardly set a foot wrong, whips in one or two good crosses and all his defensive shortfalls are forgotten. As SG said with regard to our central defenders, one has to use the squad wisely and players appropriate to the occasion. I for one doubt that Polster wasn't up to quite a few of our games this season ...

i suspect Tav wasn't expecting the center back to head the ball into a danger area.

He defended extremely well on Thursday night.

I was just stating a fact, Morelos really should have scored from another of his balls. It wasn't a comment on his overall performance.
