POLL: Rangers Charity Foundation Dream Fund Project

Club 1872 is pleased to put forward a project to members to fund two elements of this year's Rangers Charity Foundation Dream Fund.

The Rangers Charity Foundation helps bring smiles to the faces of those supporters who are in need of a boost through their Dream Fund.

The Fund is used to pay for special Rangers experiences throughout the season for children and adults whose lives have been impacted by the likes of disability, illness or other difficult circumstances.

The Rangers Charity Dream Fund is made up of a number of exclusive experiences. These include the behind the scenes Dream Days which involve attendees meeting the entire first team squad and watching them train at the Hummel Training Centre before heading to Ibrox for lunch and a tour.

The Dream Fund Kids' Christmas Party sees 60 children invited from nominees and charity partners for buffet dinner, entertainment, gifts, Santa and Broxi Bear.

The proposal to members is to fund the Dream Days for this current season and the Kids' Christmas Party. The total cost of funding these activities is £2000.

The member poll will run for one week and close on Thursday 17th October 2019 at midnight.

This is a small amount of money but it seems to me that Club 1872 members are being asked to fund something that would be happening anyway. This is not the type of project that I had envisaged when I was on the Club 1872 Working Group.

I agree entirely.

It's  difficult for Club 1872 these days because the original purpose (at least my understanding of it) was to buy enough shares to help protect the club from future disasters.  It is unlikely that we will ever have enough, and as the club's fortunes improve it becomes even less likely that enough people will contribute.  It's time Club 1872 therefore reflects on its purpose.  I'll be happy to continue to put money into it and have a group of fans decide how best that money is spent.  Funding events like these are important and worthwhile but I agree that members' expectations need to be managed better to avoid frustration or worse.

Things are looking good at present on the financial front, we have people in control who are Rangers fans and business men. Everything looks rosy, just the same as most fans thought during the reign of SDM. Club1872 should be concentrating on financing share purchases at every opportunity. It looks to me that the board of Club1872 are looking for things to do to to justify their position.

Sorry but Club1872 is as dead as a dodo and it’s all their own fault , no amount of constructive criticism could change their minds , an absolute waste , yet again and again it’s our own fault .

Another one!

POLL: Rangers Charity Foundation Walking Football Project 2019

Dear Member,

Club 1872 is pleased to present another potential project to members for approval.

The project is to support the Rangers Charity Foundation (RCF) in its provision of a year long Walking Football programme to members of the Rangers family - something which Club 1872 also supported in 2018.

You can read more about last year's programme here.

Walking Football provides the opportunity for supporters aged 50 + to take part in the sport that they love. It targets socially isolated individuals using the hook of the club to bring people together for some physical exercise and the chance to build their network of people in the local community.

The session lasts 2 hours, the first hour is activity helping with participants' well-being both physical and mental through enjoyable structured walking football, whilst the second hour is for socialising and building positive relationships which can be carried forward out with the sessions.

Walking Football takes place at the Ibrox Complex with the social time taking place in the Ibrox Community Hub.
The proposal is:

To fund the provision of a year long programme of walking football by the Rangers Charity Foundation for up to 30 participants each week.

This includes the provision of 2 RCF coaches, Ibrox Complex hire, t-shirts for participants and hire of club facilities.

The cost of the project is £4,400.

The project requires majority approval from the voting membership and voting will remain open until midnight on 21st October 2019.

To vote please click the link below, enter your login details and you will be redirected to the poll page. If you are already logged in to your Club 1872 account please logout first before clicking the link and then re-enter your login details.

This is truly pathetic stuff from the latest hapless incarnation of the RST. No, a better word would be embarrassing.

Actually, even the RST would have baulked at this rubbish.

Is this really what they think the support expects from its largest representative organisation?
