[FT] Hearts 1 - 1 Rangers (Morelos 39)

Recommended Posts

We've got through their fast start, and we're slowly starting to gain a foothold.

However, I don't think we've created a chance. Maybe that long-range header from Davis, but that was 'long-shot'. (No pun intended.)

Really frustrating that we didn't get started for 10-15mins, giving away another incredibly cheap goal in the process.

Too many players seemed to start slowly and we also didn't have any shape - both Barisic and Katic struggled on the left side of defence for that opening spell whilst our midfielders (Aribo aside) couldn't get into the game at all.

Fortunately, we managed to nab an unlikely equaliser and hopefully now we can use that as a platform to do a whole lot better in the second half.  We really need a lot more from Ojo, Arfeld, Tav and Davis - all of whom haven't done enough to get on the ball or have used it poorly when they have.

Suspect we'll also see Kent sooner rather than later.

What was McGregor booked for? (I've got it muted; I couldn't stand it.)

It can't have been time-wasting. It was 30 minutes in, and we were behind.

Dissent.

Extremely poor. Only got back into it from the goal.

Defensive poor. Tavernier has to sit out for a week or so. One mistake is OK, two is forgivable but now its 3 plus a poor showing. That will filter through.

Midfield ultra poor - never competed with Hearts until the goal.

Expect much better second half.
