Well that was a pretty dreadful game of football but we somehow got the win.

 

We are nowhere near good enough to have 5 players have stinkers and still expect to win. Tav, Aribo, Arfield, Stewart & Barker were all well below the standard required and I expect 4 of this 5 to be dropped for Wednesday (obviously Tav never gets dropped).

 

Davis was immense, trying hard to drive us forward, winning tackles, doing the work of 3 in there (just as well as Aribo & Arfield were gash) and even got a rare shot in which led to our equaliser. The easiest of MOTM picks this week.

 

We really need to up our game over the next few games if we are to make progress in the 3 competitions.

Not many passesin game but certainly a couple of wasted jerseys Aribo/Tav(to an extent).

 

Davis again immense,solid by Barasic/Goldson/Defoe & Stewart.

 

Officials again getting their money for nothing especially Dallas who was abysmal.

 

Still we get the 3.points despite them.

We'll play better than that and not win games. Turgid stuff but it could prove vital at the end of the day. Not many with pass marks today.

 

Few changes - as usual - for Wednesday. Those that are dropped for Wednesday cant have many complaints

Dreadful team selection by Gerrard. He HAS to pick Morelos for these games. He has to take Tav off penalties. 

 

Why wait until after 70 minutes to bring on Alfie? He should have been on at half time... although I'd have him on after 20 minutes.

 

Hopefully he'll start learning from his mistakes.

I thought Defoe offered little apart from the goal. Wasn't up to the physical challenge. 

 

Stewart was poor, in my opinion. 

 

Davis and Barasic were miles in front of the rest of the team,  apart from Morelos when he came on.
