Rangers 3 Leicester City 0

Recommended Posts

According to the Rangers sub on Reddit we played Leicester behind closed doors today winning  3-0.  Goals from Tav, Stewart and Docherty.   I guess a few of the fringe players would've gotten a run out.

Wonder what team we put out?  And how many Leicester first team players took part.

The source said that while “none of their established stars” featured, Leicester fielded a genuine U23 team, similar to the kind of side they would deploy in Premier League 2 football.

It was always unlikely that the Foxes would have their big guns on display, with the vast majority of their first team away on international duty.

Yet, this was clearly still a hugely beneficial workout for the Gers squad, against stiff opposition.

H&H suggested that the game had been organised so that scouts could have a look at Docherty so it's strange that he was on the bench.

It's also strange to see Goldson playing and Katic on the bench when Goldson has been playing so much. Goldson suffered at the end of last season through over-playing. Are we making the same mistake?

I suspect the players themselves wanted to play as to avoid the kind of issues we had when we dropped points at Tynecastle.

A practice match can be different to a proper match in terms of energy expended but useful in terms of retaining sharpness for those that did't play internationally.  I also doubt either player played the full 90mins.

If the scorers were Tavernier, Docherty and Stewart in a 3-0 scoreline, where does Cameron come in?
