I'm supposed to be meeting some pals outdoors this afternoon but the clouds are getting darker every time I look out the window. ☹️

Have Scottish Summers always been this wet?  Perhaps it's the old rose-tinted spectacles but there seems to be more rain in June, July and August nowadays than there was in the 80s and 90s.

In town yesterday for the first time since 14 March to conduct business Mrs 7 can’t handle - filling a petrol can, putting a strimmer in for repair. Weird experience. Never seen so many bikes in my life, mostly blokes with a bunch of kids and mostly on the pavement. Time to go back to work. Not a lot of masks.

As David Wolthenstone once said , some people think it's all over

I made a geology-related trip to Assynt today, with brief stops at Ullapool, Inverness, Huntly and Aberdeen. I was pleasantly surprised to see everyone wearing masks inside or queuing outside shops, petrol station kiosks, etc. Virtually no one was wearing masks outside, which of course no one has asked them to do. It seems in the north at least there are still people who don't get paranoid at the idea of helping protect others.
