Lauren (Cameroon).       Terry (England)    Vidic (Serbia)       Irwin (ROI)

Ronaldo (Portugal)        Makelele (France) Essien (Ghana)      Giggs (Wales)

Drogba  (Ivory Coast)         Rudd  Van Nistelrooy (Netherlands)

Like the side as a few CFC included, but not sure Terry counts, otherwise he would have been a shoe-in for my team!!!

Bill Brown (‘Spurs)

Eddie Macreadie (Chelsea), Richard Gough (‘Spurs)

Frank McLintock, Ian Ure (Arsenal) Dave McKay  (‘Spurs)

Charlie Cooke, (Chelsea) John White, Gordon Durie, Alan Gilzean (‘Spurs) Graham Leggatt (Fulham)

Leggatt was a cracking good outside right but I think he could manage outside left. He would have had a good number of caps but for Alex Scott, Willie Henderson and some chap Johnstone.

This gets tricky also. One player from each club who are currently a Premier League side (Leeds would have been useful but cant be used).

Its not necessarily picking the best player from each squad, its getting them into a formation. The one helpful thing is the player may have played for more than one team.

Here is my 3-5-2 again.

Reina (Villa)

Terry (Chelsea) Kompany (Man City) Van Dijk (Southampton)

Kante (Leicester)

Gerrard (Liverpool) Keane (Man Utd) Lampard (West Ham) Bale (Spurs)

Henry (Arsenal) Shearer (Newcastle)

I would probably opt to switch Bale with Modric and put him in the centre. Then take Keane out and replace with Giggs or Ronaldo on the left.

Aye. Doesn’t have to be a good team, right enough.

Don't know Leggatt, but that is a decent XI, well as long as McCreadie was not lined up against George Best.

Here is a difficult one (difficult for me, at any rate) :

An XI of Scottish players who played furth of the British Isles (so no 'He once turned out for Dundalk, etc); as you said, earlier, it doesn't have to be a good side......
