Only problem is I think he is being groomed to replace Barisic. Halliday's place also at risk now. Hope Bassey makes it but I've seen too many development squad players from clubs down south fail to cut it with us and end up in the third tier of England.

Halliday has been released.

Why is that a problem?  Surely bringing in promising youngsters as back up is sensible from a footballing and an economic point of view.

If they make it then it's not. But you have to ask why he didn't get a shot at Leicester. I would like nothing better than for us to grow our own and have a nucleus of 5 or 6 devpt. squad graduates. Least he's a permanent signing; I hate the conveyor belt of short-term loanees and hope this signals a change of strategy.

Probably because they're a top end EPL club and he's only 20.

A shame

I disagree - nowhere near good enough to get us where we want to be.

Agree....he would run through a brick wall for us, just like most fans would do.

Pity he never possessed the skill set required.

We have already given full time contracts to at least nine development squad players so are heading in right direction that way.

Let us hope he is better than Joe Dodoo our previous acquisition from Leicester.

Was he not a loanee same as Ojo,Ejaria and other like failures of that system.

This time at least he is a permanent signing.
